"Nile Lilies" Photo Reference
After each class, I load an image of what I painted into Dropbox for your reference, so you can clearly see what I've completed.
When you're done painting your lesson, take a picture and send it to me by Thursday by 8pm so I can load in into Dropbox, and at the next zoom class we can work together with a critique on how to progress. If I don't get your image by 8pm Thursday it may not be posted in dropbox for review.
I don't particularly like Agapanthus or Nile Lilies, but two of the stems have double heads which isn't normal.
I've observed these and couldn't wait to see how they'd open. I love how the buds are cracking and just starting to open and how they are overlapping. The top flower is touching the middle flower and the middle flower is touching the top flower's stem and the bottom flower is bending over all the stems.
I love the simplicity of the image and the delicate shadows.
The single flower's stems are straight while the double flowers stems are curved.
I wanted to title this "Ballet" or "Opening Night at the Ballet", or just simply "Opening". But settled on "Nile Lilies" for now.
