This dragonfly teased me all morning at the Woodlands near Houston Texas. Across from the Marriott, there was this little oasis - a koi pond with water lilies that grew on either side of a bridge. As soon as I'd spy a dragonfly and zoom in or get close the dang this would zip away. Not only were they fast, but the weather was incredibly humid, and I had to keep wiping the lens of my camera as everything would just fog up.

Using Indanthrene Blue, I first added a very light amount to the "anthers" of the flowers, and then when that was dry I added a light amount of Transparent Yellow to the "stamens" as shown.

When the "parts" were dry, I then wet the petals and dropped Indanthrene Blue into each petal shape as shown. Keep an eye on your edges, some petal edges are white, while others will move to the darks.
