Now here is where we left off, to see this image without any graphics, scroll to the top and it's the one on the right hand side.

Here's where we left off Last Friday April 24th. We are having an extra class May 1st!

Scroll down to see how we got to this point.

Feel free to add colors as you see them to finish this beautiful image.

If something calls out to you more yellow, add yellow. If you need to go darker in an area, what is it calling for?

We will take the frisket off and go from there this coming Friday.

Saturday April 19, 2009 Step 1 Homework

I've taken an hour to add Transparent Yellow to both Bees and to the male "parts" of the flower.

I'm not going to add arrows because I want you to click on the image and really look at what I've done.

I'm not finished either, I am getting ready to add Permanent Rose to the mix! The Bee's are starting to look like Bees!

Scroll down to see what this looks like after adding the permanent rose.

Saturday April 19, 2009 Step 2 Homework

I've taken an hour to add Permanent Rose, I've gone over the sepia and especially the upper bee' legs and the fuzzy part of the body and head.

Worked my way 'round the "parts" to the left, under the top bee and to the right.

Once the "parts" were somewhat found, I then worked on the lower bee's body and wings really working lightly and making sure to soften as shown.

I also added a light glaze of perm rose over the bottom fold of the petal which we have thus far ignored.

Please click on the image to really see what I've done.

I may do more....email me if you have any questions...

Here's where we left off Friday, April 17th, 2009

There is homework, we must add Transparent yellow where it is needed. Where you might ask is it needed? Look at your reference image!
I will be posting what I have done soon. So you can match up to what I've done.

Here is where we left off Friday April 10, 2009

Scroll down to see how we got to this point, and there is HOMEWORK:

Paint your red shapes to match the surrounding petals. We will be working with liquid masking next Friday, so bring your ruling pen.

Here's what our painting looks like after Friday session April 3, 2009

This week we finished the background (which is really the rose petals) once everyone's
background was finished, we removed the frisket and then began working on the focus
of this painting, the bee's and the flower "parts".

Here's where we left off! scroll down to see the two steps we did to get here.

Here's where we finished on Friday March 27, 2009 Scroll down to see the the progression of how we got to this point.

Read the steps left to right top to bottom.

We started with Winsor Purple and then worked in the Permanent Rose from the week prior.

This week we added Quinacridone Magenta, and then Winsor Red.

The last step this week we added more Quinacridone Magenta to be the last color on top

I shot this image at the gallery so the color is different than the one's previous. I'm not so happy with the veining of the petals that are located at the lower left, above the "white" or virgin area.

How will I adjust this? I will wet the area with water and then go in and add color over it to soften.

Here's the homework assignment which needs to be completed before Friday March 27th
By the way I did not add more color to the background, it's just the difference from taking
a picture at the gallery vs taking a picture at the Senior Center.

Here's what we completed on Friday March 20th! Scroll down to see the steps

Feel free to click on the image to see it larger.

keep this away from direct sunlight, so the frisket stays fresh, and can be removed.

We have homework which will be posted here soon.
